Just read both links very interesting I must say but if you wanted to speed up live rock process what if you put it in local tidal estary would that speed the whole thing or is it better to do it in tank to save the curing before placing it in tank.

Simon.. When you cure the fake rock did you use a powerhead/heater.. etc while it was in a container for 6 weeks?
(changing the ro water weekly)

Hi dento, yes you will need to run a power head and heater mine took nearly 3 months to come down in ph.
I'm no expert on the matter just letting you know it might take longer.

3 months!? ..might be easier if i just buy some second hand then, mines only 160L including the sump just thought it look better custom building the rock in a small space.

5 to 6 wks would be o.k...12 wks to long for me.
